Cassie McDaniel is Design Director at the Mozilla Foundation, leading a remote team of designers to spread web literacy across the globe and advocate for open practices on the Web. She founded the interview series Women&&Tech, a platform for telling personal stories behind successful and up-and-coming women working in technology. With her husband she also founded Paris Lectures, a series of creative meetups and workshops for people in nearby small towns. She is based an hour outside Toronto in rural Paris, Ontario with her partner-in-crime, Mark Staplehurst, and their toddler, Amelia Moo.
Her design writing has been published in A List Apart, Smashing Magazine, Distance, Offscreen Magazine and others. She writes regularly about design, process, and personal subjects on her blog, Plot47A. Ultimately Cassie’s aim is to inspire people to use their talents for good, to work open, and to be kind, no matter where they are in the world.
