Anita Cheng

Anita Cheng is a former cancer researcher who went into tech to help people faster. She gets to do just that working in government, currently for San Francisco Digital Services, making services more user-centered. In 2020, she was the sole content designer embedded in San Francisco’s COVID Command Center. Pre-pandemic, she wrote San Francisco’s cannabis business permit application.

In previous roles, she worked on the websites for affordable housing programs in San Francisco, as well as the website for building permits at the City of Los Angeles. Anita has given talks at Confab, the IA conference, DotGov Design, the Code for America Summit, and League of California Cities.
