Todd Dominey
TODD DOMINEY is known throughout the world as a web designer, Flash developer, author, blogger, and entrepreneur.
Through his design studio Dominey Design, Todd has designed and developed a wide array of interactive work for clients including Budweiser, Motorola, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, and Blogger. Todd has been interviewed by numerous print and online publications, including Communication Arts, and is recognized for his creative insight and opinion through his personal web site What Do I Know.
In early 2005, Todd released his first software product—SlideShowPro—a photo gallery component for the Macromedia Flash authoring application. Solely designed and developed by Todd, SlideShowPro became one of the most popular and acclaimed photo gallery applications on the Web; appearing on tens of thousands of web sites throughout the world, from personal web pages to high-traffic sites like ESPN and The New York Times.
In addition to Dominey Design, Todd is now in his fourth year as an interactive designer at Turner. It was at Turner Sports Interactive that Todd created official sites for major PGA tournaments including The PGA Championship (2004 and 2005) and The Ryder Cup, with the Championship being instantly recognized in the web development community as one of the more notable high-traffic web destinations built upon the principals of standards-compliant code and accessibility. It was selected as an example site for Professional CSS (Wrox), where Todd wrote first-hand about the site's CSS, XHTML, Flash, and visual effects.
Todd was recently promoted to Creative Director for a new Turner Entertainment broadband venture in early 2006, which is currently under development.
Todd lives in Atlanta (Decatur to be exact), and spends his free time dreaming up new software ideas, reading about architecture, trolling the web looking for new music, and swinging a hammer around his restored craftsman bungalow on weekends.
“I walked away from the conference with specific, concrete information that I can begin to apply immediately to projects at work; my colleagues and I left Chicago feeling excited, enthusiastic, and more informed about what we can offer our clients.” Laurie Holcombe
