Blue Beanie Day 2010

November 29, 2010

Tuesday, November 30, web standards supporters around the globe will don blue woolen caps in a show of solidarity during the Fourth Annual International Blue Beanie Day.

Participation is easy: snap a self-portrait wearing a blue beanie (or get creative in Photoshop). Post your photo to the Blue Beanie Day 2010 group on Flickr. Then on November 30, replace your usual profile picture/avatar in Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and so on with a blue beanie avatar instead.

Folks who attended An Event Apart in 2010 have a head start (pardon the pun), as we distributed blue beanies to all attendees at all five sold-out shows this year.

But wait, there’s more! Participate in the Blue Beanie Day Haiku Contest for your chance to win free books by leading An Event Apart speakers! Books were donated by our friends at Peachpit/New Riders (“Voices That Matter”) and A Book Apart.

Sign up on Facebook if you plan to participate, and follow Blue Beanie Day on Twitter for all the latest happenings. Help make this the biggest international show of support yet for standards-based web design.
