Results of the Quick Technologies Survey

October 1, 2009

It was only a couple of weeks ago that we opened the doors on our Quick Technologies Survey, asking you which web design and development technologies you’re either using now or expect to be using within the next two years. 1,226 of you responded over the following week, and now we have the results!

CSS3 89.3%
JavaScript libraries 84.0%
HTML5 82.6%
Real fonts on the web 61.7%
Flash 49.6%
Microformats 39.3%
‘canvas’ drawing 18.2%
SVG 14.3%
RDF/RDFa 12.6%

One of the things we found interesting was the high showing of HTML5. It may be that, despite the widely-mocked and often misrepresented 2022 completion date, most people in the field have ignored the drama and expect that HTML5 will very soon be a part of their everyday work.

“I walked away from the conference with specific, concrete information that I can begin to apply immediately to projects at work; my colleagues and I left Chicago feeling excited, enthusiastic, and more informed about what we can offer our clients.” Laurie Holcombe
