Tantek Çelik Joins An Event Apart NYC Roster
May 11, 2006Tantek Çelik, chief technologist at Technorati and co-founder of the microformats movement, has joined the all-star speakers’ lineup of An Event Apart NYC, where he will bring unparalleled insights on microformats and web standards to Code Day, July 11.
Among Tantek’s achievements:
- Contributor to XHTML, CSS 2, CSS 2.1, and CSS 3 specifications
- Lead developer of Tasman rendering engine in IE5/Mac, the first browser to bring serious standards compliance to the masses
- Creator of Box Model Hack (AKA Tantek Hack) that made it possible to design CSS layouts that work accurately in imperfectly compliant browsers
- Co-creator of XFN (XHTML Friends Network), the first microformat
