September 7, 2005After Philadelphia, then what? Where will An Event Apart show up next?
That’s the question we hear most as we slog through, er, as we joyfully read and respond to the many, many emails we’ve received since An Event Apart’s website went live yesterday at midnight.
Many of you have written to us from Atlanta, and by a strange coincidence that city is high on our list of probable next AEA venues. How could we resist a town capable of producing both Turner Classic Movies and Andre 3000?
Just as important is where we won’t go next. We are unlikely to do a show in New York City (where one of us lives) or Washington DC (where one of us used to live) in the near future. We love those towns. Love ’em, love ’em, love ’em. Eventually we’ll take Manhattan and we’ll storm the nation’s capital too. But not right away and not even real soon.
So Amtrak it to Philly, cradle of liberty, birthplace of sweet soul music, and home of the tunafish hoagie.
